butterfly
world will be located on land which once belonged
to the Royal National Rose Society (RNRS). Having fallen
on hard times financially, this much-prized institution
urgently needed to sell a portion of its ‘Gardens
of the Rose’ whilst retaining its cultivated formal
gardens. The land was described by local planners as ‘somewhat
degraded and under stress’.
butterfly world effectively secures the
long-term future of the RNRS, and provides a much-needed
cash injection to update and restore the old gardens.
The arrangements with butterfly world are a perfect fit:
two adjoining world-class attractions, quite different
in character but entirely complimentary to each other.
