After
an intensive seven-year search, project founder Clive
Farrell finally discovered the perfect site for butterfly
world at Chiswell Green,
near St Albans in Hertfordshire.
In December 2003 the 27 acre site was secured for Butterfly World Project Limited and outline planning permission
for the whole project was granted in March 2004.
The butterfly world team looks forward to restoring bio-diversity
to the Grade 3 agricultural land at Chiswell Green, and
making it the richest wild flower meadow in Hertfordshire.
