butterfly
world has received the endorsement of local planners
and development agencies who have had the imagination
to see the potential benefits of the project for the local
community and to the East of England Region.
The site had been designated by St Albans and District
Council Planning for landscape creation and enhancement,
and our proposals were given planning permission in 2004.
The project is backed by the Office of the Deputy Prime
Minister, and fulfills the criteria of many national and
local strategies, including the National Bio-Diversity
Action Plan.
The butterfly world project also satisfies
all the Secretary of State’s Green Belt objectives.
It will keep an important green space open, significantly
enhancing the local landscape and increasing its biological
diversity, bringing a health-giving new outdoor leisure
facility to those who live there and all who visit, including
many from the urban populations of London and the Midlands.
